Without Volunteers this no-kill shelter for cats and kittens could not exist.

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers, we have helped to spay and neuter close to 3000 cats and kittens in the 4 years that we have been open, preventing the births of thousands of unwanted kittens.

Because of our volunteers we have adopted out over 3000 cats  and kittens, giving them a second chance at life in wonderful, loving homes.

Our volunteers are a huge part of the community gem that is West Side Cats.

They do every job necessary to keep the shelter running, from the glamor job of pooper scooper to the equally glamorous floor mopping, data entering, feeder filling and laundry doing. They also talk to adopters, care for our off-site cats, foster cats and kittens in their homes and perform the infinite other tasks that crop up during a day in the life of a cat lady. Every job, big or small, necessary to run our animal shelter is being done by a volunteer.

We are always in need of volunteers Regardless of your age, education or disability we have a job here for you. No special skills are required to be a member of our team and help save the lives of a great many cats and kittens. Wait, I take that back – a sense of humor is a definite plus when dealing with cats and cat ladies!

We are a fun group and know we are making a difference in the community. We would love for you to join us. Just come by during adoption hours to meet us and the kitties and we will find something for you to do.

We are 100% volunteer. If you can’t come and volunteer with us we would love your financial support instead. Use the button to the right to donate online or send us a check. We have our 501(c) (3) so we are a tax deductible charity. We always need help with vet bills, paying rent and utilities and get excited when something good comes in the mail. It means we can spay or neuter another kitty or buy some cat food or pay the rent!!
